I bought a lomochrome purple 110 film (https://ebay.us/xhy0Yn) cartridge from my local camera shop and was pleased with the pictures I was able to take with it in this camera!

Nickelodeon Studios Postcard

For about fifteen years or so, Nickelodeon Studios was the coolest place to visit on the planet. Unfortunately it closed and the building became a theater for Blue Man Group, which closed just this year. Alas, you can remember this unique place in its heyday with this glorious postcard!

Slime Green Inflatable Chair

This inflatable chair was offered in exchange for Kool Aid points (“Kool Points”) some time ago, but is difficult to find these days. Some might say that you’d have to “drink the kool aid,” to buy one at today’s prices, but the green and orange colors pop on the inflatable vinyl in a way they don’t on many other items in this genre and if you have the space, it looks really cool.

When I first started collecting Nickelodeon memorabilia these were relatively inexpensive, but demand has driven up the price. There’s a screenshot below of one selling with a “buy it now” price of $15 in 2005. I didn’t have the $15 at the time, so I missed out on this one and paid a lot more for the one that is on sale at the link above.

Nickelodeon Magazine First Monthly Issue

Nothing quite captures the zeitgeist of the 90s like this magazine. The ads are my favorite part, but the content is really good, too.

In other ways, it was ahead of its time. Look at the ad below in the style of a meme.

I have exercised restraint in not tearing out any of the prank activities to use them, but no judgement if you buy it and decide to use the seat saving card.

Another great part of this magazine is a short Q&A with Gerry Laybourne, President of Nickelodeon at that time. So much of Nickelodeon’s “golden age” can be attributed to her work and creativity, especially the idea for Nickelodeon Studios in Orlando.

VHS Bonanza

…but not a VHS tape of the show Bonanza, you’ll have to look elsewhere for that.

Listed some VHS tapes today. Tapes are a little bulky and I get why Blockbuster went out of business but in terms of amount of nostalgia they provide relative to the space they occupy, these are a great deal!

Universal Studios Florida Guide circa 1989

Included in the gallery below are images from the 1989 Universal Studios Florida park guide. When you open the fold out behind the cover, there is a wide view of the park and you can see the Nickelodeon Studios building before the Slime geyser was installed!

There is also a double spread featuring Nickelodeon with images from Double Dare and You Can’t Do That on Television.
